Membership: Terms and Conditions

Members shall abide by these Terms and Conditions including any amendments made in accordance with the details set out below.

1. Membership Applications

1.1 Everyone has to be a Member and maintain their membership status in order to qualify for any Member Benefit.

1.2 Membership is not considered active until your membership fee (as laid out online or included within a specific benefit) has been received by Community Benefits Group CIC.

1.3 Applications for membership will be considered by Community Benefits Group CIC who have the right to refuse your application.

1.4 By submitting an application form on-line or by e-mail, you are deemed to have signed the application form.

1.5 Applications for Membership may be subject to a request for relevant supporting documentation with Membership not considered active until such supporting documentation has been supplied and approved.

1.6 All information provided by you to Community Benefits Group CIC must be true and accurate at the point of applying.

1.7 In the event of a change of circumstances such as a change of contact details, you are responsible for notifying Community Benefits Group CIC by e-mail or in writing so that your records can be updated.

1.8 All Members will be identified, anti-money laundered, profiled and subject to any other checks deemed necessary.

1.9 Business members will also be subject to company checks and will be required to submit relevant supporting documentation such as a certificate of incorporation.

2. Membership Payments, Renewals and Cancellations

2.1 Membership is fixed for a period of one calendar year starting on the day your details are registered on Community Benefits Group CIC system.

2.2 Membership will be activated from the point of approval of the application and once payment has been received.

2.3 Payment can be made by cheque, BACS, GoCardless or Direct Debit (other methods may be offered in the future).

2.4 If membership payment remains outstanding after 14 days Community Benefits Group CIC will notify you by e-mail or letter.

2.5 If membership payment has not been received within one month of the joining date then your membership will be cancelled.

2.6 Membership is subject to renewal each calendar year.

2.7 Renewal payments not received within one month of becoming due will result in your membership being considered lapsed and all services may be suspended pending payment. However, membership charges will continue to accrue, until resignation is received in writing, subject to the cancellation procedure outlined in clause 2.9.

2.8 It is your responsibility to advise Community Benefits Group CIC of your intention not to renew.

2.9 To cancel your membership you will need to notify Community Benefits Group CIC in writing stating your name, membership number, your intention to not renew and your reason for not renewing. This reason will be recorded for internal use only.

2.10 Community Benefits Group CIC reserves the right to withdraw your membership or to prevent you from renewing in line with clause 5.

2.11 Refunds will not be given for cancelled or terminated memberships.

3. Membership Levels

3.1 Individual Membership

3.1.1 Individual membership belongs to the individual who has their details registered on Community Benefits Group CIC system.

3.1.2 You will be issued with a Membership number which you must use in all correspondence and calls to Community Benefits Group CIC.

3.1.3 It is your responsibility to keep your membership number confidential.

3.2 Business Membership

3.2.1 Business membership belongs to the organisation whose details are registered with Community Benefits Group CIC.

3.2.2 Business members will be invoiced for their membership fee once their membership application has been approved.

3.2.3 Business Members must also register a Director/Owner/Partner as an individual Member to act as their representative in order to receive all the benefits of the DotComUnity membership package.

3.2.4 The Business Members Representative is responsible for ensuring that Community Benefits Group CIC are informed of any change within the business that affects Membership including but not limited to: change in registered address, change in contact details, change in business ownership.

3.2.5 Business Members can transfer representative status within the organisation as long as they transfer to another Director/Owner/Partner who is also an Individual Member and inform Community Benefits Group CIC of the transfer of representative status immediately.

3.2.6 The Business will be issued with a membership number which they must use when contacting Community Benefits Group CIC.

3.2.7 It is the Business members’ responsibility to keep their membership number confidential.

4. Membership Benefits

4.1 Member Benefits are only available for active members whose membership fee payments are up to date.

4.2 Member benefits may be provided directly by Community Benefits Group CIC or through third parties.

4.3 If a Member Benefit is provided by a third party then that party may have their own Terms and Conditions that Members must abide by.

4.4 If a Member Benefit is provided by a third party then that party retains the right to limit or disbar Members from accessing their member benefit.

4.5 Community Benefits Group CIC will keep Members informed of any new member benefits through the member e-newsletter or other communication methods as agreed by Community Benefits Group CIC from time to time.

4.6 Member Benefits may change without notice.

5. Terminating Membership

5.1 Community Benefits Group CIC reserves the right to terminate membership or prevent any Member from renewing membership for the following reasons:

5.1.1 The Member brings DotComUnity into disrepute.

5.1.2 The Member is deemed to have misused their membership privileges.

5.1.3 The member fails to pay their membership fee within the timeframe outlined in Clause 2.

5.1.4 The Member allows another individual to use their member benefits.

5.1.5 The Member makes false or inaccurate statements about DotComUnity, its authorised Branches or its Information and Advice Points on social media or any other communication outlets.

5.2 If membership is terminated, access to all Member Benefits will be withdrawn and any accrued benefits and monies will be returned to the Member.

6. Variation of Terms & Conditions

6.1 These terms and conditions may be revised from time to time. If they are revised, Community Benefits Group CIC will post or e-mail the revised version to you. It will be your responsibility to keep up to date with all such changes and continued membership shall be deemed as acceptance of any changes to these terms and conditions.

7. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

7.1 These terms and conditions shall be governed by the Law of England and Wales.
